The probabilistic model of parton distributions, previously developed by oneof the authors, is generalized to include the transversity distribution. Wheninterference effects are attributed to quark level only, the intrinsic quarkmotion produces the transversity, which is about twice as large as the usualpolarized distribution. The applicability of such a picture is considered andpossible corrections, accounting for interference effects at the parton-hadrontransition stage are discussed.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures, Latex & PostScript files.
