At Lind, Washington, 20 insecticides were field tested as seed treatments to control wireworms in dry land wheat. Wheat was treated with a slurry method in Sept 1977. All seed treated with insecticide was pretreated with the fungicide HCB. Ragdoll germination tests were initiated 13 days following application of seed dressings and again after 6 months of storage. The field was previously in grass plots for a year followed by two years of fallow. Seed was planted in Ritzville silt loam on Nov’77 at a 30 lb/acre rate and 3/4 inch depth. Each treatment consisted of 4 replications 4 drill rows wide and 40 feet long. Two replications of each treatment were located in different blocks and were positioned by a randomized formula.
