Insecticides were applied on 14 and 24 Jul on ‘DES 119’ cotton in Lonoke County, AR, using a John Deere Hi-Cycle 6000 sprayer equipped with a CO2 powered system for spraying small plots. The sprayer was calibrated to deliver 9 gal/acre at 50 psi through TX-6 hollowcone nozzles on a 19-inch spacing. Plots were 10, 38-inch rows, 50-ft long arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications. Insect counts were made at 3 DAT by whole plant examinations of 14 row ft in each plot counting bollworms and bollworm damage. Plots were oversprayed with 2 applications of pyrethroids on 7 and 17 Aug to control bollworms in late season. Plots were harvested using a John Deere 2-row picker, harvesting the center 2 rows of each plot.
