Two bran bait studies were conducted in 1 m2 screen field cages. Bran bait at a 2.0 lb/acre rate was placed uniformly within cages on 29 Jul. The first study used 20 twostriped grasshoppers/cage on 29 Jul with 4 seedling corn plants (20 cm). In the second study, 20 redlegged grasshoppers were placed in cages on 18 Aug containing freshly mowed Kentucky bluegrass. Treatment mortality counts were made 5 and 4 d postapplication in cages containing corn and bluegrass, respectively. The second study evaluated Dimilin, and live grasshoppers were counted 14 d postapplication. A completely random design with 4 samples/treatment was used for both studies. Data were analyzed using the General Linear.
