A 5 year-old stand of alfalfa in declo silt loam soil at the University of Idaho, Research and Extension Center, Aberdeen, ID was used. At treatment time, plants were 24 inches high with 30% showing weevil damage. Four treatments were replicated 4 times in a complete randomized block design. The plots were 80-ft diameter circles (0.1 acre). Three inch hook-and-latch pipe with 6.13-inch nozzles were used. Treatments were applied with a MAZZEIR injector for 30 min. Water was applied at the rate of 0.2 inch/h with a 7 hp pump. Insect populations from each plot were sampled 1 day before and 1, 3, 7 days after treatment by taking 5 (180°) sweeps with a 15 inch diam net.
