The Jeans stability criterium for gravitational collapse is examined for thecase of an inert binary mixture in local equilibrium, neglectinq dissipativeeffects. The corresponding transport equations are established using kinetictheory within the Euler regime approximation. It is shown that thecorresponding dispertion relation is modified, yielding corrections to theJeans wave number. This formalism that can be generalized for severalinteresting cases involving dissipation.
