As cultural heritage, cultural landscape is a place formed by the interaction between human beings and nature. Historic parks, due to their design features and use of the natural environment, have also become cultural landscapes that are listed cultural heritage sites. In Taiwan, Tainan Park was registered as a cultural heritage site in 2017, and a Conservation and Management Plan was subsequently developed in accordance with legal requirements. As cultural landscape has undergone a redefinition in Taiwan within the scope of cultural heritage preservation, the concept of preservation and maintenance has gradually changed from the preservation of buildings to the preservation and maintenance at the site scale. Therefore, in addition to physical maintenance, there are also many other operations, such as public participation, education, and activity management. A dynamic approach to the management of the historic park, which is still in use, ensures its historical value while taking into account the basic characteristics of the public’s continuing use of the space.
