This study’s goal was to determine whether trader harassment intensity (THI) could predict the intentions of visitors to Jamaica to return to the island, recommend the island to others, and support its microtraders in the future as well as to determine those with positive loyalty intentions after being harassed the reasons for such intentions. THI was found to be a significant predictor of only visitors’ intention to recommend the island to others. Eleven reasons were found for why visitors would have positive loyalty intentions toward Jamaica after experiencing TH on the island. Two reasons were because they found the island beautiful and the people nice.

Minimizing the Negative Effects of Visitor Harassment: A Look at Jamaica
