The essay draws on the insights of Hannah Arendt regarding the relationship between truth and politics to argue that the worldwide protests against the measures taken to contain the Covid-19 pandemic are not to be dismissed merely as the acts of a bunch of 'Covidiots'. Rather, it interprets them as the manifestations of the long-term assault on factual truth by democracies and authoritarian regimes alike that have resulted in the erasure of a shared, common world. In particular, it focuses on the protests that took place in Berlin between March-November 2020 and calls for tackling the challenging questions regarding how to restore the public realm in the face of multiple incompatible worlds.
