Simple, mild and highly efficient protocol has been developed by using heterogeneous silica supported SiO 2 -BiCl 3  (5 mol%) catalyst from the condensation of pyrrole ( 1,  2 mol%) and various substituted aryl aldehyde( 2,  1 mol%) to afforded  meso -dipyrromethane ( 3a-j ) with excellent yields at room temperature. We synthesize a series of  meso -dipyrromethane ( 3a-j ) derivatives. The feature of reaction requirds mild reaction condition, shorter reaction time, high yield of products and recyclability of catalyst makes this method a good option for the synthesis of  meso -dipyrromethane ( 3a-j ) derivatives. All the synthesized  3a-j  was confirmed by IR,  1 H NMR, 13C NMR and LCMS.
