The conventional attitude-behavior consistency assumption in the information satisfaction literature is challenged and the effects that users' personality attributes may have on the measurement of the satisfaction construct are discussed. A series of theoretical and methodological assessments led the author of this paper to believe that one's overt response toward an attitude object is not necessarily related directly to one's previous attitudes. The implications of this finding are discussed.
