In 2019, Pollak Library at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) reviewed their long-standing Ebook Central demand-driven acquisition (DDA) program, focusing on manipulating administrative settings to balance access and ownership. Shortly after the review, the COVID pandemic led to a seventeen-month campus closure, expected to result in increased DDA expenditures. In 2022, the review was readministered to determine the impact that settings and campus closure had on DDA with regard to ownership and expenditure. The reviews explored changes in ebook costs and eligibility, the impact of preferred access model and automatic upgrades (auto-upgrades), and a scenario analysis of short-term loans (STLs).
