As a rule, there should be conrma-tion of no pregnancy before the physician can prescribe arubella vaccine to a reproductive age female patient. Here,we share our experience from our perspective regarding theissue. The authors review results from urine pregnancy testscreeningbeforerubellavaccinationamongreproductiveagefemales from 184 cases visiting our center seeking vaccina-tion. All cases were healthy and mentioned no missedmenstruation. Of the 184 cases, two (1.09%) refused toundergotheurinepregnancytestandnofurther vaccinationwas considered. Focusing on the remaining 182 cases, posi-tive urine pregnancy was seen in two cases (1.09%) and nofurther vaccination was considered. Of interest, there aresome pregnancy cases detected by the screening conrmingthe need for urine pregnancy test screening. Although thepatientsgiveclearhistoryofnosymptomsofpregnancy,thiscan sometimes be bias or in disguise. In addition, somepatients might reject screening and it is not possible togive vaccine in such cases.
