Keratoacanthomas are rapidly growing epithelial tumours, typically arising on sun-exposed areas. The etiology is unknown. Bright skin colour and male sex are risk factors. Special variants of this tumour are giant keratoacanthoma, familial occurrence of multiple keratoacanthomas (Ferguson-Smith), spontaneous occurrence of multiple keratoacanthomas in sun-exposed areas (Grzybowski). We present a 83-year-old female patient with generalized keratoacanthomas which clinically resemble and are associated with prurigo nodularis. This type has been described by Boateng et al. 1995.
