Resumen: En el presente trabajo se desarrolla un controlador de orden fraccionario del tipo IDÎ±-1 para el control robusto de la presiÃ³n de vapor en el domo superior de una caldera bagacera, el cual posibilita aumentar la efectividad en el control, asÃ­ como la eficiencia energÃ©tica de estos equipos. La aplicaciÃ³n de un controlador de orden fraccionario se justifica por el hecho de que la dinÃ¡mica del proceso objeto de estudio puede cambiar de forma drÃ¡stica con la variaciÃ³n del calor especifico de combustiÃ³n (I). Se obtiene un modelo matemÃ¡tico nominal de la variaciÃ³n de la presiÃ³n de vapor en el domo superior de la caldera bagacera. Los resultados de validaciÃ³n del modelo matemÃ¡tico obtenido muestran un elevado grado de adecuaciÃ³n. Mediante estudios experimentales se estimÃ³ el rango de variaciÃ³n de los parÃ¡metros dinÃ¡micos del modelo matemÃ¡tico obtenido cuando el calor especÃ­fico de combustiÃ³n varÃ­a en el rango de operaciÃ³n [Imin,-1Imax]. El diseÃ±o del controlador IDÎ± se realiza en base a especificaciones en el dominio de la frecuencia. Se muestran los resultados comparativos de simulaciÃ³n del sistema de control desarrollado con controladores IDÎ±-1 vs PI e IDÎ±-1 vs PID, en el sentido de exhibir el mismo comportamiento dinÃ¡mico en lazo cerrado para las especificaciones de la planta nominal y en presencia de perturbaciones. Estos resultados demuestran que cuando la ganancia de la presiÃ³n del vapor en el domo superior de la caldera bagacera presenta variaciones en-1el rango [Kmin, Kmax] el controlador IDÎ± diseÃ±ado exhibe mejores prestaciones, asÃ­ como una mayor robustez. Abstract: This paper presents a fractional order controller of the class IDÎ±-1 for robust control of the steam pressure in the steam drum of a bagasse boiler. The proposed controller improves the effectiveness on the control, and likewise the energy efficiency of this plant. The dynamics of this process drastically changes with the variation of the specific heat of combustion (I) and the use of a fractional order control looks therefore suitable. A mathematical nominal model of the steam pressure variation in the steam drum of a bagasse boiler was obtained and validated. Experimental studies provided an estimation of the range of variation of the parametersâ model when the specific heat of combustion varies in the operating range [Imin, Imax]. The proposed fractional order controller has been compared to the standard PI and PID controllers. All of them have been designed by means of the same frequency specifications and their nominal time responses are similar when input reference changes and in presence of disturbances. The PID controller and the fractional order one have been also designed in order to maximize their robustness when the gain of the steam pressure in the steam drum of bagasse boiler changes in the range [Kmin, Kmax]. Simulated results show that the fractional order controller is more robust than the PI and the PID controllers when the gain of the plant changes but preserving the robustness when time delay varies.
