Appendicitis is notorious in its ability to simulate other conditions and in the frequency it can be mimicked by other pathologies. Despite extraordinary advances in modern radiography imaging and diagnostic laboratory investigations the accurate diagnosis of acute appendicitis remains an enigmatic challenge.
