Wireless emergency communication network (WECN) plays an important role in civil communication services, which is always constructed by the civil radios with very high frequency spectrums. The hierarchical ad hoc topology is the main networking method for WECN. In WECN based hierarchical ad hoc topology, the code division networking is always used to divide a whole network into multiple subnets. In practice, the quantity of sub-nets needed in practical application is very small, so code resource waste is caused to decrease resource utilization efficiency. Hence, this paper mainly concerns dual-channel networking (DCN) scheme consists of control channel and data channel used for hierarchical WECN as an alternative, which can reduce the code resource waste effectively in tactical communication scenarios in previous works. How to improve resource utilization efficiency of DCN, optimize its MAC protocol is the key way. To enhance the interference resistance and improve the resource utilization efficiency of control channel in DCN, we present a novel MAC protocol called Partitioned Slot Reservation Packet CDMA based on slotted spread spectrum for Software-defined wireless networks. In this protocol, packet consists of packet header and payload. Packet header accesses to channel by TDMA during Slot Reservation Period, and packet payload accesses to channel by CDMA during Multiple Access Period. Furthermore, we obtain the performance evaluation model by taking both inter-cluster and intra-cluster multi-access interference into account, which provides the expressions of packet transmission probability, normalized network throughput et al. Analytical and simulation results demonstrate that, the normalized network throughput of the network with the proposed protocol can outperform Random Packet CDMA protocol by 100% to guarantee the resource utilization efficiency of control channel. WECN with DCN will have superiority performance than traditional hierarchical networking scheme.
